Incidence registered by the health care service provider. As the data on incident cases are based on aggregated reports and not on person-based records, the double-counting of cases by different health care providers is possible.
Activity code (ICD-10) - denotes the activity when the event occurred (see Definitions and methodology).
For the period from 1998 to 2004 only total age groups data on external causes of injuries are presented. Data for children and adults were not collected separately. Gender distribution is not presented for 1998-2001.
Categorization of other accidents:
From 1998 to 2006 only transport accidents (V01-V99) and other accidents (W00-X59) are separately outlined from external causes of all accidental injuries (V01-X59). 'Other accidents (W00-X59)' includes all accidental injuries except transport accidents (V01-V99). From 2007 separate data for such external causes of accidental injuries (V01-X59) as transport accidents (V01-V99), falls (W00-W19), exposure to mechanical forces (W20-W64), accidental drowning and submersion (W65-W74), exposure to smoke, fire and flames (X00-X09), contact with heat and hot substances (X10-X19), accidental poisoning (X40-X49), exposure to forces of nature (X30-X39), other accidents (W75-W99, X20-X29, X50-X59) are presented.
Other accidents y.2007-2012 (W75-W99, X20-X29, X50-X59)' includes other accidental threats to breathing, exposure to electric current, radiation and extreme ambient air temperature and pressure, contact with venomous animals and plants, overexertion, travel and privation, accidental exposure to other and unspecified factors.
From 2007 and onwards data are also computed for the previously presented category of 'Other accidents (W00-X59)', which includes all accidental injuries except transport accidents (V01-V99).
